Entu the Dandylion

This is a mascot design for my school (NTU) a few years back. 

The name comes from Dandelion. 

Entu is envisioned as a cross between a  dandelion and an actual lion, thus the Dandylion. The rationale behind the  design is that Entu represents NTU, in which thousands of budding students  which are represented by the seeds are being nurtured within. Naturally, the  stronger students who 'grow' faster find themselves taking flight from NTU  slightly earlier than the rest. Whereas students who 'grow' slower can spend  more time and effort under the nurturing of NTU, and eventually take off when  they are ready to survive in the society.

The lion, represents Singapore, the lion city  in which NTU resides in. The lion also encompasses many desirable traits in  which students in NTU would gain as they journey upon their graduation;  decisiveness, independence and great leadership abilities. Similarly, these are  the traits that Entu the Dandylion possesses, on top of being very  enthusiastic.

Another point to note here is that the Dandy  in the Dandylion, represents yet another set of traits that sets Entu far apart  from the rest; exemplary, first-class, grand and great are some of the synonyms  of Dandy.

With these exceptional traits, there is no  doubt that students who are in the care and nurture of Entu, would grow up  eventually to become similar to or even outshine Entu. Once ready, they follow  the call of the society and take flight. Eventually they will find somewhere in  society where they can mature and grow up to be future Dandylions</i>
